L’amé- nagement de la place ‘Am Duerf’ s’est ajouté à travers un projet privé-public de ”Nachverdichtung” au coeur de la ville, qui vise à densifier la population des résidents urbains ainsi qu’à renforcer l’attractivité du centre-ville à travers des commerces de taille plus importante et complémentaires aux boutiques des vieux quartiers environnants. Un tel projet au cœur même d’une ville n’est point comparable à un projet usuel relatif à un espace public. Des mesures de précaution et de sécurité très précises et strictes ont été définies et ont été respectées. Une communication poussée avec les résidents et surtout avec les commerçants s’est avérée indispensable et fort arrangeante. Comment s’est passée votre collaboration avec l’équipe des concepteurs ? Cette collaboration fût très bonne. Les très nombreux échanges durant toutes les phases du projet étaient tout à fait positifs. Chacun a donné le maximum pour que le projet devienne un vrai succès. Avez-vous des conseils à donner à de futurs maîtres d’ouvrages ? Les futurs maîtres d’ouvrage envisageant un projet d’une telle envergure et d’une telle portée devront se doter d’équipes de concepteurs forts dans le domaine de planification d’espaces publics de grande qualité et ayant le sens de com- muniquer et de transposer leurs vues de manière à créer des espaces publics répondant aux besoins spécifiques de tous les utilisateurs. Il y a lieu d’inclure dès le début absolument tous les concernés dans la planification et d’accompagner de près les habitants et commerçants durant la phase chantier souvent difficile (délicate) à vivre au quotidien.
